I was walking down Coney Island on a rainy afternoon when I took this photo. The gaze of these men captured me, as it was in striking contrast with the colors, the happiness, the hope Coney Island is often portrayed with. I saw their eyes captured with nostalgia for their homeland, notwithstanding their desire to catch the American dream. A dream they maybe soon had to wake up from, to face reality and all the difficulties that being eradicated brings within.
