The Eagle hunter
Mongolia, September 2016, just day before the famous Eagle Festival Saliukhan is practicing the ancient art of hunting with his golden eagle. Across the mountains a large variety of animal are hunted for their fur that forms an integral part of the traditional Kazakh clothes. The skill of training golden eagle is passed on through generations. Saliukhan had his eagle for the last 6 years and once 10 years are passed the eagle is released back into the wilderness. It was amazing to witness the love Saliukhan had for his eagle during my stay in Mongolia
