I had hiked to Preikestolen in Norway after giving up on various other hikes where roads were still closed from unmelted winter snow. Upon reaching the cliff I couldn't help but feel my heart in my chest, watching others walk near the edge. With fog so thick you couldn't see more than a few feet, my brain wouldn't stop telling me that perhaps it was thick enough to walk on.
