This photo was inspired by three quotes from Rachel Carson's EDGE OF THE SEA. This is the boundary between two totally distinct worlds with the inhabitants of one gazing longingly at the other from which they originally came. This is a boundary which is always in flux, now land, now sea. It engenders profound respect, even awe, which is manifest in the postures of the five subjects.
