The Elegance and Grace of the Trillium Flower

I have always heard how rare and beautiful Trillium flowers are, but I've never spent an early spring witnesses these flowers bloom. These flowers love the shadowed forest floor, and only bloom after reaching full maturity, which is after about seven to nine years. These flowers are illegal to pick in Oregon because they take so long to bloom, and I appreciate that law. Having the privilege to hike and see these flowers in full bloom was a sight to see, and one that I won't forget.
