The Face of the Earth: Guardian of Labetxu

Labetxu, the "valley of colours", is a magical corner hidden in the mountains of Jaizkibel, in Guipúzcoa, which seems to come out of a dream. Its rocks display a palette of vibrant colours, from intense reds to bright blues and yellows, the result of millions of years of erosion and oxidation of minerals. This visual spectacle is a true natural treasure, protected within the Jaizkibel area and part of the Natura 2000 Network. According to an ancient legend, the spirit Eguzkilore was the one who painted these rocks, manifesting at sunset to intensify their beauty and protect the place.
