16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
The Final Procession
The beginning of the funeral procession of Milwaukee officer Charles Irvine Jr. He was the first officer to be killed in the line of duty in Milwaukee since 1996. He was 23. Officers from around the state participated in the procession. People would be lining the streets through out the route to pay their last respects to the fallen officer.
