this bald eagle eaglet in the sun's rays overlooks the anacostia river in washington dc and represents hope, like "the firebird", for our children and environment. in 1992 members of a public housing community launched a youth movement to clean the very polluted anacostia river. hard work by disadvantaged youths restored the river, bald eagles returned to nest, the earth conservation corp was born, and this bald eagle eaglet represents hope for the future of our youth and environment.
