13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
The Forbidden City, Beijing, China
I was given the distinctive opportunity to travel to Beijing, China in July. I traveled without my parents in tow and with other scholars from across the globe. Not only does this picture show the beauty and detail in an ancient statue, but it represents the coming together of friends internationally.
