Soon after we moved into our home last October, the ground was covered in colorful leaves and dotted with emerging wild mushrooms. On this particular shoot, I was walking our dog around the property and came across a stack of tree trunks that had been cut down. The flat surface called for a beautiful iron and wood door I had photographed in Stuttgart, and the array of color and various stages of autumn leaves framed it beautifully for the season I wanted to feature. And to top it off, little chimneys of wild mushrooms dotted the "roof" of this forest floor abode.
