The fruit lesson of Thai street vendors
In the early evening on a street in Bangkok’s Chinatown, many vendors, local residents, and foreign tourists can be seen. The woman selling fruit seems to be explaining something to these people from different places. They appear not to fully understand, or seem surprised, or puzzled. The overall composition of the scene and the expressions bear a resemblance to Rembrandt’s “The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicoleas Tulp”.
