This lion cub, about 4–6 weeks old, is the only one of his age in the pride. Likely the sole survivor of his litter, he rests alone on the kopjes while the lionesses and older cubs stay nearby. Fragile but resilient, he represents the hard fight for survival and the future of the pride.
