This is the girl who wants to save Uganda's forests. 17 year old Leah Namugerwa is fighting against climate change and deforestation in her country. When she turned 15, she decided to stop spending money on birthday cakes and parties and instead give back to nature. She planted 200 trees on her 15th birthday. The following year she planted 500 and this year 700. Today her «Birthday tree» project is growing and she is inspiring other Ugandans to join. ”I am convinced that if all Ugandans join my effort and start planting trees, we can give back one billion trees to nature within the next 10 years”, she says.
