The Golden Gate Bridge from a biplane
This shot really belongs in the wild hair category. It was the result of a completely random wrong turn on the way to my niece's wedding in Napa, I ended up driving by this airport that had vintage aircraft you could go up in. So I did. In the exact same plane that my father, a fighter pilot in WWII, had trained in, a Steerman biplane. He flew 41 missions over Germany and never talked about it. Being in the plane he flew first was incredibly moving, he died in 2008. I still get updates from his fellow pilots, there are so few left.
