The picture was taken at Golden Temple, Amritsar during Diwali and Bandi Chor diwas festivities. The temple is decorated with festive lights, and hundreds of thousands of people show up to pay respect. A Khalsa (pure Sikh by oath) is taking bath in the "sarover" (pond) while praying towards the Golden temple. Khalsas carry a small dagger as part of their religious oath. They would wrap it around their turban while taking bath.
