The Great Falls Tavern is located in the C&O Canal National Historical Park not far from the Great Falls of the Potomac after which it is named. The Tavern possesses a rich history in the Washington, DC area for the period in the 19th and 20th centuries when it was an operating tavern. Today it houses National Park Services offices and a gift shop but there is significant activity underway to return it to a working tavern in the Park. The tavern brings together the richness of American History aligned with the nearby beauty of the National Park.
