The Grocery Store, Buttonwillow
This was taken during a road trip to Carrizo to see some wild flowers blooms. We stayed at Taft, and drove past Buttonwillow on our way home. According to the United States Census Bureau, Buttonwillow has an area of 6.9 square miles (18 km2), all of it land. Buttonwillow is also locally known as the cotton country, due to the abundant planting of cotton in the vicinity. (wikipedia) The grocery store caught my attention mainly because it stood out in the middle of the deserted town. The signages gave so much character to the building.
