Laos is still a developing country in Asia. We still see some ethnic groups in rural areas, where women are still working harder than men. Yet we know women still have no equal rights like a man within those ethnic groups. This picture shows the hard labour women endure, in rural Laos. A middle aged woman is carrying the heavy wooden pole on her right shoulder, out from the jungle. She feels thirsty as the sunlight beats on her face, as she picks her way over the rocky path.
