The haviest stones I've ever carried
The image, "The Heaviest Stones I Carried," depicts fragments of kidney stones removed from me during a lithotripsy I underwent in May 2025. The image places the stone fragments next to an empty, overturned glass, referencing dehydration, one of the major contributing factors to stone formation. The play of light makes the shadows of the fragments appear larger than they are, reinforcing the threat they pose to well-being. The cold, almost monochromatic tones of the scene, evokes the chill of an operating room, often the final chapter of what is remembered as one of the worst pains in the world: renal colic. IMPORTANT NOTE: My last name is SILVA, but I prefer to be introduced as "THIAGO CARVALHO"! Carvalho is my middle name.
