Swimming pools at tourist apartments in Torrevieja, southeast Iberia, sit under water stress. Spain presents a paradox: amid growing desertification and water scarcity, it remains one of the countries with the highest pool density per capita—approximately one for every 35 people. At the center, a pool shaped like the Iberian Peninsula (Spain as the main basin, Portugal as the kids’ pool) becomes a metaphor for how leisure, economy, and landscape collide in these territories.
