The Island

“To cry to the sea that roar'd to us, to sigh To the winds whose pity, sighing back again, Did us but loving wrong.” Prospero, the overthrown Duke of Milan, was content, for a time, to live his life in exile on a remote island with his books of the occult to study. His daughter Miranda had no choice, whether to stay or leave. She grew up knowing just her father and the enslaved Caliban, the island’s original inhabitant, as her only companions.
