15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
The King
This photograph was taken at the historic Hawa Mahal in Jaipur on a drizzly evening. This palace was built for the queens of Jaipur to witness the daily life of then. I wanted to capture the elephant and Hawa Mahal in a single frame, as both of them are regarded as the pride of Indian culture.
