For years I’ve photographed hundreds of lions, always searching for —the one— the lion that embodies the very essence of what we call the king of the jungle. Not just for his mane or presence, but for that rare, piercing gaze that goes straight through you. And then it happened: our eyes met. Just for a second, but it was enough. A silent exchange beyond words. This portrait is the result of that moment. He wasn’t posing. He was simply there. And so was I. Face to face. It’s not just power. It’s presence. It’s consciousness.
