The king vulture

In Brazil, there are lots of folktales among indigenous people. The king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa), for example, is admired for its very high flight. Some indigenous people believe that it can fly above the clouds, and because of that the arrows made with its feathers hardly miss the target. In the picture: a king vulture rests over a chestnut tree trunk, and at its left, a bird nest that ressembles a child sitting on a branch, looking at the horizon.
