The Life Of Tea Workers. A bud section of two leaves is Syllet. Out of 156 tea gardens, 120 are located in this category. There are 24 tea gardens in Habiganj district. And the tea workers of these gardens are living an inhumane life. Tea plants are pruned as they are not allowed to grow more than 26 inches. The life of a tea worker is like a tea plant. 222 square feet house in labor line. Life in a tea garden is like an isolated island. And the garden is the whole world to the workers. Despite working for eight hours a day, the tea workers of Habiganj survive by eating fried tea leaves in the morning, dry bread in the afternoon and rice with chili at night.
