The Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument while on descent into Washington, D.C.

Could we be closer to our deep rooted history as Americans than to visit Washington, D.C.? I was going to D.C. to see a fellow Photographer's Mate I hadn't seen in 26 years when we were both stationed there. The pilot allowed handhelds, so I shot from the plane from Ohio to Washington, D.C. on an hour long express flight.
