The long, lonely road

On my first visit to Death Valley National Park, I was amazed at its beauty and vastness. I had never seen anything like it, and was surprised at how various areas in the park were so different from each other. Near Zabriskie Point I saw this man looking like he was contemplating going on a hike to the next hill, and I saw a worn path that led off into the distance. Was he going to follow it? I wondered.
