Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) This is a small male baby orangutan born during the pandemic. He is now 6 months old and has a very active and curious behavior with his environment. Orangutans base their learning on imitation, attention and memory, just like humans. There are cases in which they have been seen trying to light a fire, after seeing it in humans. Threats to their environment due to palm oil exploitation have put them at the limit of their endurance and they could disappear within a decade.
