This photo is one of a series of photos taken during the famous Venetian Carnival in 2020. A foggy morning and the way the image was captured seemed to anticipate the gradual disappearance of reality this year due to the COVID-19 virus infection. This morning was the last time Venice was an open city. During the following hours, the final carnival parade of masks was first canceled and subsequently the city was closed.
