The Milky Way from the southern most point in the United States.
Ka Lae means "The Point" in Hawaiian and is the name of the southernmost spot on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is also called "South Point". Being located below 19 degrees latitude gives it a view of the Milky Way rising higher in the sky than any other place in the 50 United States. To be sure that I got the absolute most Milky Way possible, I timed this shot to the specific instant that the galaxy was exactly vertical to the southern horizon (2:41am for this particular night).
