Monks within the Tsuglhakhang Complex in India debating amongst themselves on philosophical topics. This practice, accordance to the teachings of the Buddha, deepens the understanding and sharpens the minds of the monks, bringing about the development of the mind. Involving two parties, a Damchawa (defender) and a Riklampa (challenger), the challenger is responsible in their questions he or she puts forth, to oblige the defender to contradict either previous statements or common sense. The defender is accountable to bring forth a true thesis and defend it.
