18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
The Obi
A centennial beech with its branches cut located on a hilltop in the Basque Country, keeping watch of everything and everyone. Struggling against the wind and lashed by the rain and the hot sun. It has lived a long time. It has seen a lot of change happen. The survivor is not the strongest, but the one most able to adapt.
