Morani is about 14 years old. He recently took the spot of the oldest lion in the Masai Mara when a very famous lion named Scarface passed away earlier this year. He was most recognized for missing an eye and heavy scars on his face from years of fighting and defending territory. Like Scarface, Morani is a lone male who has been pushed out of the pride by younger stronger males. This is natural in lions as the strongest males will control the pride and be able to mate while older weaker males get pushed out of the territory where they eventually have problems hunting and pass away naturally. Morani was a part of a Coalition of 4 males, Scarface, Morani, Hunter, Sikio.So he's the only one remaining out of the 4.
