The outsider - lonely Red Flamingo among seagulls at Florida Beach
The picture is showing a red flamingo standing in an awkward posture at Lover’s Key Beach in Florida amidst a group of seagulls. Even though flamingos are a famous theme on Florida souvenirs and postcards, these birds do actually not live in this state. And usually these animals are no mavericks, but spend their life as part of a huge flock. So this encounter was quite special. Obviously, the bird was lost during his travels. Nevertheless he seemed very calm and at peace with himself. He was very trusting and we enjoyed each others company for several hours.
