The Painted Hall Tricks The Eye
The Painted Hall by British artist Sir James Thornhill is a Baroque masterpiece known as Britain's 'Sistine Chapel'. Thornhill used techniques of trompe l’oeil ("trick the eye") and chiaroscuro (contrast of light and dark).
