This was taken after the break of dawn on the Dal lake in Srinagar at the local floating vegetable market. I set out in a flimsy boat called 'shikara' which the locals use for transit in the serpentine waterways of the lake. It was cold and I saw these men perched at the edges of their boats as they waited for the market to begin.
