Captured July 4th weekend, 2019 this photo highlights adventurous folks who made their way into Great Sand Dunes National Park just before dusk to catch the stars and perhaps sleep the night through. Eager to capture a shot of the expansive dunes in Southwestern Colorado my brother and I battled our way to one of the great dunes in a less frequented corner of the park. Despite driving sand and threatening storm clouds, as sunset crawled across the dunes casting long golden shadows the wind died and we were met with this view.
