Prom's purpose is easily lost in the glamour of it all. Should we highlight our favorable qualities or follow the standard model? Coming from an immigrant family made understanding prom difficult as it is an American tradition. Prom is a part of the education system in America, something we all are allowed to participate in. Sometimes, I forget that. I forget that America's youth does not mean it does not and never will have tradition and culture.
