12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
The rail throwing dust at the local hometown mud run.
It was the only rail in the competition and all spectators were anxiously waiting for to watch it tear down the track. It did not disappoint. A deafening roar, a whirlwind of dust and flash of color ... and it was over. But there is next year. Same place. Same time.
