The Red Elephants of Tsavo
The Red Elephants of Tsavo are red because of the huge iron content of the East Tsavo National Park soils. They roll themselves in the dust and mud and consequently look red. In the late afternoon many animals, including herds of elephant, come to the watering hole to drink. East Tsavo has deep bore hole wells and the wildlife is protected from poachers.
