DEEP THOUGHTS: I was watching the latest news on TV and turned it off, feeling so very frustrated and questioning why we need to have so much hatred towards each other. Then, there is a knock on my door, and this gruff-looking construction worker delicately shows me three baby squirrels that he realized were in a nest in a tree he was trimming on our property. Together we talked about what to do to ensure their safety and decided to lay them in the shade near a rock, hoping that the mother would find them. Over the next couple of hours, the plight of these babies and their mother finding them and taking them to safety helped me come to terms with my frustrations realizing that sometimes even with so much animosity, we can still enjoy the wonders of the world around us through observing the natural order of things.
