The Sea of Consumption

In the bustling corners of Chattogram, mountains of discarded plastic bottles rise like modern-day towers. Every day, workers sift through nearly a ton of waste, cleaning and shredding the plastic before transforming it into granules. These small, shiny pellets don’t stay small for long—they are reborn as durable containers, furniture, and everyday products, weaving discarded waste back into the fabric of daily life. Amid the clatter of machines and the rhythm of labour, the city quietly battles the plastic tide, one recycled bottle at a time.
