The unusual expressions of the faces of the two clowns are due to the fact that these chaps were about to enter stage of the theater they were playing with very little rehearsal. They were a bit nervous before the entry but I can tell you what happened later....they performed exceedingly well overcoming the stage fright and won accolades from the audience !
