About 80% of Singaporeans live comfortably in public housing units which are locally referred to as HDB (Housing and Development Board) flats. The shared corridors are used for various activities such as laundry-drying, chatting, cycling, etc. Glitzy and swanky buildings can be seen beyond the corridor, where one can enjoy a day or night out shopping, watching performances or even gambling.
