A young orchid mantis looked backward and showed a sheepish smile toward me when I was attempting to approach it. Orchid Mantis is one of the protected insect in Malaysia, this species is characterized by brilliant colouring and a structure finely adapted for camouflage, mimicking parts of the orchid flower.
