The spirit of bygone times

The venerable cathedral of the 12th century monastery of Valmagne is no longer used for religious purposes. While our visit, restoration works took place. The interior was lined with scaffolding and cloths. When I entered the church, I still felt the spirit of bygone times. The light fell through the windows and bathed the sanctuary in mystical light. The white cloths looked like the curtain of a theater and the structures of the scaffolding gave the scene something surreal, but also beautiful.
