The Splash
On an unseasonably warm day in February 2023, a friend and fellow artist and I went to Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, Kure Beach, North Carolina to get some beach reference photos for paintings. While we hoped to find wildlife and wave references, I never imagined the scene I was about to capture.
