the stunning Fire Wave in Valley of Fire State Park Nevada
this stunning geologic feature is called the Fire Wave and is located in Valley of Fire State park in Nevada. it is accessed in the northernmost area of the park by an easy three quarter-mile hike. the Fire Wave is created by years of wind and water erosion to the sandstone while the colors are produced by oxidation of the iron and manganese in the sandstone. different shades of colors are visible under varying light conditions during the day.
