The Tail of Persian Caravanserais 4

These series of photos were taken on a road trip starting from the city of Kerman to Tehran the capital of Iran. This route was chosen based on the location of a number of caravanserais, which are considered as one of the most important form of Persian Architecture, along the ancient Khorasan trail. These buildings were a network of places for travelers to rest and be safe from the dangers of the road. The photos are in black and white to better showcase the architectural forms and the mesmerizing shadows they create against the landscape surrounding it. In the photos, it is vividly visible how these manmade structures merge into the landscape, have a strong relationship with it or become a landscape for another building.
