The Texas "dust bowl" with a looming storm cloud
We encountered this fallow field on the Texas prairie while storm chasing. The system threatened to develop into a tornado but did not; nonetheless you cn see the dust plumes being drawn up by the updraft into the rotating cloud, about 1000' above the ground.
